1. Who we are
Woopets UK (www.woopets.uk) is published by SAS Digistart, 61 Allée du 3e Génie, 62000 Arras, France (SIRET 79079028100030), which is responsible, as data controller, for the personal information described in this policy.
The privacy of our visitors matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the website, why we collect it, who we share it with and what choices you have. For any question about your data, use our contact form (subject “Personal data request”) or write to us at the address above.
2. Your cookie choices
SAS Digistart, publisher of Woopets, participates in the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework and complies with its Specifications and Policies. It uses the Sirdata consent management platform (CMP ID 92).
When you first visit, you can accept or refuse the use of cookies and similar technologies that are not strictly necessary for the website to work. You can review and change your choices at any time: Manage cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 with advanced Consent Mode. If you refuse audience measurement cookies, signals without Analytics cookies are still sent to Google for measurement and, where the conditions are met, statistical modelling. These signals may include information about the page viewed, your browser and the time of your visit.
To find out more about how Google uses data, see its privacy and terms.
3. Information we collect
- Technical information about your device and your visit: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page you came from, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit;
- The information you send us through the contact form: your name, your email address and your message;
- If you post a comment: the name you choose, your message, and the technical data needed to protect the comment form against spam;
- If you agree to receive notifications: the subscription identifier provided by your browser;
- Your cookie choices, stored in your browser.
We do not sell anything on Woopets UK and never ask for payment details. Comments you publish are visible to everyone on the internet. Before sending us information about another person, please make sure they agree.
4. How we use it, and why
- To run the website, display its pages and keep it secure, for example against spam, fraud and attacks: this is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable website;
- To answer your messages and handle your requests;
- To publish your comments, if you post any;
- To measure our audience and improve our content: with your consent, or in the cookieless form described in section 2;
- To send you notifications about new articles, if you have subscribed: with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from your browser settings;
- To comply with our legal obligations, and to establish, exercise or defend our rights.
We never sell your personal information, and we never pass it on to third parties for their own direct marketing without your explicit consent.
5. Who we share it with
Your information is only accessible to the members of our team who need it, and to the service providers who help us run the website, strictly for that purpose:
- our web host, whose servers are located in the European Union;
- Cloudflare, which delivers our pages and images and protects the website against attacks (it processes technical data such as your IP address);
- Sirdata, our consent management platform, which records your cookie choices;
- Mailjet, which delivers the messages sent through our contact form to our team;
- Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our comment forms against spam;
- WonderPush, which sends the notifications you have subscribed to;
- Google, for audience measurement (Google Analytics);
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, in connection with legal proceedings, or to establish, exercise or defend our rights; and, should our business or assets be sold, to the buyer, who would be bound by this policy.
6. Content from other websites
Some articles include content embedded from other websites, such as videos or social media posts (YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook). This content behaves exactly as if you were visiting the other website: it may collect data about you, use cookies and monitor your interaction with it, under that website’s own privacy policy.
Our articles also link to other websites. We have no control over them and are not responsible for their privacy policies or practices.
7. International transfers
Our website is hosted in the European Union, which UK law recognises as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data. Some of our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where they do, the transfer relies on adequacy regulations or on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above. Messages sent through the contact form are kept for the time needed to handle your request and any follow-up. Technical logs are kept for a limited period, for security purposes. Your cookie choices are stored in your browser for a limited time, after which we ask you again.
We may keep information for longer where the law requires it, or where it may be relevant to legal proceedings or needed to establish, exercise or defend our rights.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. Our servers are protected, and the website is only available over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No transmission of information over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
10. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 — and under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, as we are established in France — you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- have it erased;
- restrict or object to its processing, including, at any time, its use for marketing;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example by changing your cookie choices or unsubscribing from notifications, without affecting anything done before.
To exercise these rights, or to let us know that information we hold about you needs updating, use our contact form (subject “Personal data request”) or write to us at the postal address above. We may need to check your identity before responding, and we will reply within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection authority, at ico.org.uk, or to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
11. Cookies
A cookie is a small file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that a web server sends to your browser, which stores it. The identifier is sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from it. Cookies may be “persistent”, in which case your browser keeps them until their expiry date unless you delete them first, or “session” cookies, which expire when you close your browser. Other technologies, such as local storage, work in a similar way.
As well as the cookie settings mentioned in section 2, most browsers let you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Blocking all cookies may prevent some features of this website, and of many others, from working properly.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time by publishing a new version on this page, dated at the top. Please check it regularly.
This policy is based on a template by SEQ Legal (seqlegal.com), modified by Website Planet (www.websiteplanet.com) and adapted by Woopets.
